My First Post :)

It's weird.  I have forced myself to believe that I am so busy and never have time to do anything (yahda, yahda, yahda), but then I find myself reading other people’s blogs…like… ALL OF THE TIME!  I actually get excited and look forward to reading them…REALLY!  I even look forward to reading blogs of a few people that I do not even know!  Crazy, huh?  It's my new cup of Joe in the mornings (not that actually drink coffee in the mornings, but you know what I mean).  Since I did not have a formal blog (up until now), I have been listing myself as an anonymous reader on other people's blogs.  Now, with the help of Diamond Doll Design, I can take off my mask and become ME!

Who is ME?  Well, vaguely, I could say I am a twenty six year old trying to find my place in the world.  But more specifically, I wear a lot of hats and am a lot of things to a lot of different people.  I am a follower of God in the Catholic faith.  God is number one in my life, and I strive to live the way he wills for me.  I am a daughter to wonderful parents that have been happily married for almost twenty-eight years.  They are from Palestine (Texas), but currently reside in Texarkana (Texas side) running our third generation family biz.  I am a sister to Jeffrey (24) and Jessica (22).  Being the oldest sibling can be challenging at times as I feel I am under a lot of pressure to be a good example, but I honestly wish them every happiness in the world.  I am a new wife to a very patient and kind husband, Mark.  He is a ticket broker for Metro Tickets in Dallas.  We recently got married on September 25, 2010, after knowing each other for over four years.  I am a mother to a sweet but rambunctious kitty named Sonny (he is really just a huge ball of sunshine...seriously).  I am a friend to several including from childhood, college, tennis, and work...not to mention the great friends I inherited when marrying Mark and on social networks.  We are very lucky to have such a great support system, and I always enjoy doing things and spending time with our friends.  I am a graduate of University of Texas at Arlington with a Bachelors in Business Management.  I managed to graduate cum laude and was an active brother of Delta Sigma Pi, a business fraternity.  I am an insurance agent, employed by Texans Insurance Group (formerly known as Curley Insurance Group) where I have been for almost five years.  I know being an insurance agent sounds like the most boring job in the world, but for some reason I like it...it has stuck with me since college.  Boy did I NOT know what I was getting myself into when I took that job as a receptionist for a small agency down the street from my on-campus college apartment in 2005.  To my surprise, after one week of answering phones, I took the horrid test to obtain my Property & Casualty General Lines Agent License and ran a one-woman show in Personal Lines for our agency in Arlington.  I still cannot believe it sometimes.  I am a captain to the coolest tennis team ever, Double Trouble, consisting of a great group of women – all unique, admirable, and encouraging in their own way.  I love being able to get off work and whack a tennis ball for a couple of hours with people that make me smile.  I am an Independent Distributor for my new business, AdvoCare.  I very recently started this new gig and I look forward to seeing where it takes me.  I am a first time home buyer, as of May 2010, and I have enjoyed (sort of) the new ventures that come with home ownership.  I am a cook (in training) and enjoy getting to know my creative side with decorating the house, gardening, and other various projects.

From being a newlywed to a first time homeowner to a captain of a tennis team, I want to continue to take time to acknowledge all of the little things in between.  I hope this blog reflects these moments and allows me to stay in touch with my loved ones by documenting the journey that God has paved for me.  No matter the score, I have to say that I beyond doubt feel like the Queen of the Court.

Thank you to Diamond Doll Design for helping me with this fabulous blog.  Jessica Cermak is great and I highly recommend her to anyone that is looking for a blog makeover!
